It gives off ample light for those of us with poor eyesight.It comes complete with one GU 35w Bulb but I also ordered the extra pack of ten bulbs for the bargain price of around �7. It will last a lifetime if taken care of. I am glad it came up in my recommendations. It is fully ajustable..Versatile Head Tilt with Swivel neck and arms... Swivel, tilt, stretch etc. Warning.. In the instruction manual it says to keep it at least 0.3 Meters away from other furnishings... e.g Curtains I presume as it can get fairly hot with it using a Halogen bulb. But it only uses a 3 Amp fuse in the fitted plug with an in-line rocker on/off switch so It's safe as houses. Came well packed in its box. Easy peasy to put together.
